If you are someone who is looking for a fun little project that involves a little bit of woodwork then you have come to the right place, let us give you the DIY Coffee Table with cup holders. It might sound like a lot of work to make a coffee table like this, but in reality, it will be over before you know it. Also, the cost of making this coffee table is not that high.
To make your own coffee table with cup holders, you will need the following materials.
- black plumber’s pipe of ½ inch width
- screw cap, flange, 6″ pipe, 5″ pipe: 6 of each of these
- 3 inches pipe: 3 of them
- White plastic dip
- 24 Wood screws of #8 x 3/4″
- glossy paint
- lumber: we used the one with 1″ x 10″ x 5′ dimension
- Hole Cutter with 3-inch diameter
- Tape measure
The first step is to take the lumber piece and drill holes for cup holders with the help of the hole saw. Be careful to drill these holes only in the places other than where legs will be attached. Start the drilling on 1 side until the drilling is done halfway through. After that, flip the lumber piece over and finish drilling the hole from another side to make a clean cut hole. Sand these holes and then use the wood primer. Paint the edges as well as the bottom half of these holes and leave them for drying up.
Grab those black plumber pipes and clean them thoroughly with soap and warm water.
Now screw on a black cap on each of the 6-inch pipes. Dip the cap in the white plastic dip; you can use it of any color, like red, blue, or yellow. This plastic coating ill not only protect the floor surface from scratches but will also pop up the color in the room’s décor. Once the plastic dip is dried up, assemble the pipes and the fittings as shown in the figure below to form the legs of the coffee table.
Attach these coffee table legs on to the lumber piece with some wooden screws. Space these plumber pipes evenly on the center, left and right.
St your coffee table with cup holders upright. Lie over a table cloth and enjoy placing your cups.
